  • Sessions are being taken over

I'm going to do the best I can to explain but I'm fairly new to TS.
    Server 2008 R2
    15 Device CAL's
0 User CAL's (not really needed for us from what I understand)

user1 is logged in from Computer1.
user2 logs in from Computer2 and takes over session of user1.
user1 logs back in from Computer 1 kicking out user2.
Two different users in AD on two different computers.

They don't always log in and take over a session though. I've tried to whittle down the scenarios where it happens and I can't find any sort of pattern to it.

I'm not sure what else to post here that might be helpful but I'm really scratching my head of how sessions can be taken over from another user.

    Thanks.

We bought more licenses hoping that would resolve the issue wondering if that was the problem. But it doesn't appear to be so...

We are still having this problem and I'm not able to find much on the internet with others having this issue. It does seem to happening more often though.

    Help!

If the session is taken over then I think it must be the same credentials that the users are using. You need to make sure the users are using different credentials.

I should clarify, is the session being taken over or are they being kicked out of their session when the other user connects in a different session?
Have you installed the Remote Desktop Services Host role on the 2008 R2 server?
