  • Transferring Terminal Servers

    Hello all,

In light of my last post, I've managed to convince my boss to upgrade our terminal server from Server 2003 to Server 2008 x64 for the TS Gateway feature.

Admittedly, I'm a fresh graduate from school and we never touched on this sort of thing in any of my MS courses. Can anybody recommend a good tutorial for transferring over all settings to my new server that's coming? I'd like this to be a nice smooth transition.

    Thanks!

    Re: Transferring Terminal Servers

    HI,

First, I can recommanded to create a short tests to verify that your applications/drivers will work under X64. You may need to upgrade the drivers/software sometimes - before you move to X64.
Then, consider ot use Windows 2008 R2... Its recommanded to use this edition, and the price shold be the same as Windows 2008.

A good start point can be:

Can the TS Gateway server and the RDP server not be on the same box (without virtualization?)

The TS Web + TS Gateway can be installed on the DMZ for example...
