  • RWW Equivelent in TS 2008 ?

In SBS 2003, users could remotely connect to their work computer. No matter how many computers we had internally, we still only needed to open one port 3389. This was called Remote Web Workplace. ( RWW )

What would be the equivalent feature in Windows Server 2008 R2 ?

    Thanks,
    Chase

RD Web Access is actually just for streaming applications from a terminal server.

I found what would be the equivalent... This can be done with Terminal Services Gateway.

Using remote desktop, the hostname is the name of the computer you want to connect to on the remote internal network, under Advanced you put in the address of your terminal services gateway... and viola! it works.

Had you reconfigured your RWW port on your previous SBS Server? 3389 was for RDP Sessions, 2 of them. RWW used port 4125.
        1 1 was a racehorse.
        2 2 was 1 2.

Well we have an SBS 2003 server. We are putting in a 2008 Standard to replace it. One of the features we will lose is RWW. So I think an alternative to it is using TS Gateway.

Also you could use DirectAccess for win7 clients obviously.

Ahhh so they moved RWW to System Center... Also the DirectAccess thing is neat, too bad it mainly relies on IPv6
