  • Server specs for running Citrix on Server 2003

    Hi all,

Not sure if this is the correct area, but here goes....

We're considering setting up a server to run Citrix.

We would have about 25 concurrent users who would use Microsoft Office 2003 and maybe a finance application. We would have an application server to run the finance application from.

So now the question is - since the Citrix server is there for the 25 concurrent Citrix users (all apps like Office and finance program installed on the Application server), what would the minimum and/or recommended specifications be for the processor and RAM and primary SCSI hard drive be?

Oh yeah! Totally agree with you on that one!

Half the problem is that the project manager has been told by a consultant than a Xeon 2.8/3Ghz and 2/3Gb RAM and a 73Gb SCSI drive should cut it and we're not sure if we're being led astray or not.

Anyone think we need something better than a Xeon 3Ghz with 2/3Gb RAM and 73Gb SCSI HDD for a 25 concurrent user CITRIX server? If yes, any realistic recommendations for specs?

        HP 380 G4
        4 GB RAM - 4* 1 GB DDR 3200
        Fan Kit
        Dual Power Supply
        Backup battery for Array 6i
        Advanced ILO 2
        Floppy + DVD
2*74 GB 15000 RPM Disks if you use Roaming Profiles
2*74 GB 15000 RPM Disks + 2*146 GB 15000 RPM Disks if the
Profiles and data will be save on the server it self.
1 CPU 3.4 GHZ with 2 MB Cache (Very important)
3 Years warranty 24/7 on site

If you will please to add more then 30 users to the server or use more
        Applications consider buy dual CPU.

Its also recommended to use "Publish Applications" feather of Citrix and not allow users to logon to the server it self. It will help you to achieve good
        Performance.

        Regards,

        Yuval
