  • New TS server configuration advise

    Hi all,

I am getting ready to deploy a new TS configuration and looking for advise on best way given the following configuration / needs:

TS server is W2k8 Sp2 with 20 per user cals.
this server also hosts 1 virtual windows 2003 server which contains an accounting app.

I need to also make MS office available for the remote users

My plan was to use the 2008 server as the gateway server and go ahead and install office on the 2003 server and publish the apps that way.
Am I heading in the right direction?

I have not done this before so if I have not provided enough information please let me know.

All the customers reside on the same LAN? If so, you will not need to use TS Gateway.
Just deploy Winodws 2008 TS with Remote Application:

btw.. If you buy a new license, use Windows 2008R2.

    and a mice link:

Re: New TS server configuration advise

well initially the TS stuff will be for the owners of the organization who have now decided that they can/want work from home.

they have also stated an interest to moving to an all thin client environment in the future and doing away with the pc's.

thanks for the guides. I was just unsure if I had enough hardware, but I guess I have another OS license so we could always visualize another machine.
