  • Office 2007 on Server 2003 TS -- any tips?

I'm about to install Office 2007 in a terminal services 2003 environment -- I already have the VLK licenses, but our old friend gives a lot of "tweaks" to get it working

Has anyone done this and can give me a quick guide to the pitfalls and any practical tips to make the process smoother?

Server is Windows 2003 SP2 (Not R2) Quad 3.2 GHz, 3 GB RAM -- currently with Office 2003, which will have to go first

    1. Download Office 2007 SP2 ADM files and create a new GPO for it (for using old .doc format and not .docx format etc.).

    2. Check the applications, macros etc. on a new PC with office 2007 SP2.

    3. Uninstall the Office 2003, reboot and then install Office 2007 -> SP2.

    4. Use custom installation (Groove, Infopath etc. usually dont use in most of the server based installation).

    5. Memory - Check if you will need to upgrade to 4 GB.

      Thanks, Yuval!
It will be only Excel I need and I think it will need XLSX file format
Memory upgrade is not an option at this stage
