  • increase the number of RDP connection on win2k8

    Hi all
how can i increase the number of RDP connections on win2k8 enterprise
    win2k3 has 3 max connections 2 RDP + 1 console
i want to increase the number on win2k8 to become 2 connections at least without logging off connected users
is there is any way except terminal licensing
    Thanks

There's no way to do it without installing Terminal Services and purchasing CAL's. Any attempt to circumvent this is a clear violation of the licensing terms.

      Thanks joe
we already have 5 CAL with our windows server 2008 enterprise license and our installation has been activated but we can't log on with concurrent users if user1 is logged on when user2 logs on he logs off user1
is there any workaround to let concurrent users work without logging off each other

A W2K8 CAL and a W2K8 TS CAL are two different things. A W2K8 CAL is of no use to TS users. You need to install Terminal Services, purchase W2K8 TS CAL's, and set up a TS License Server. Have a look here for starters:

        http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserv...-terminal.aspx

        Especially this point:

        Windows Server Client Access License

In addition to a server license, a Windows Server Client Access License (CAL) is required. If you wish to utilize the Terminal Services functionality of the Windows Server software, an incremental Terminal Services Client Access License (TS CAL) is required as well. A TS CAL is required for each user or device.

And make sure to read all the FAQ's on the page.
