  • TS 2003 and Wyse S30 thin client display issues (black boxes)

I am unsure if this is a problem with my TS or with the thin clients themselves, so if this is in the wrong section, feel free to move it.

This problem only appears on the Wyse clients, not on the desktops.

Every few weeks or so some users will complain about black boxes showing up on their screen. The thin clients are set to 800 x 600 x 16 and the only experience option set for RDP is bitmap caching. Thin clients are running latest firmware (588 w/ RDP 5.5).

The maximum number of users that would ever connect to this server is 20, average is 10 to 12 any given day. Server has dual 2.0GHz Quad-core Xeon, 4GB RAM, plenty of hard disk space, dual NIC (only using 1 of 2).

I have increased the network request buffer in the registry, taken from this article.

Anyone have any ideas to help solve this problem?

Ok, I have turned off bitmap caching. Will have to wait to see if the issue comes back.
