  • terminal service helpdesk tool

hey guys, i was wondering what is the best practice for the helpdesk to remote control the sessions on the terminal service box?

would it be to give them access to an AD box with terminal services manager on it?

or is there some tool i can install locally?

    thanks guys

    Start-Programs-Administrative Tools-Terminal Services Configuration.
    • R click on your RDP connection
    • Go to the Permissions tab.
    • Add the Helpdesk security group
    • Go to the Advanced tab and
    • Asign that group the required permissions.

      thanks for that L4ndy,

when i add a user who is not a admin, i get the message saying,

configuration changes have been made to the system registry; however; the user sessions now active on the RDP-Tcp connection will no be changed

      what does that mean?

It means that the changes will only take effect for new sessions and not any active ones.

yes it does, that is great if you have admin access, but i need to give a certain group access so that they can remote control TS sessions on their desktop instead of on the server
