  • DOS print in terminal services

    Hi:

We are running thin clients on windows 2003 server.

Our hospital management software (backend SQL, front end VB) prints the hospital bills on a dot matrix printer in windows using the drivers in graphical format.

We, however, need to print in DOS format so that the printing is faster. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!

    Cheers

IMHO, speak to the vendor. You will have a support contract (at least, I hope you do) and they should be able to advise you on this

Can you print in DOS forumat if you are at the console? (i.e. is it a feature of the application)

      The most known is:

However, this may reduce the TS performance/Printer performance.

What do you mean by DOS printing?
You can print directly to LPT or COM port, or you can use the 'Net Use' command to redirect COM or LPT to a network print queue.
