  • Installing Terminal Server license server

Does selecting Enterprise on a member server in a domain ensure that the license server is automatically discovered by terminal servers that communicate with it? Or do we need to put this on a DC in order to ensure automatic discovery?

"Click Your entire enterprise to choose an Enterprise license server. You can only install an Enterprise license server on a domain controller or a member server in a domain, not on a stand-alone server. This role is published to Active Directory.

Click Your domain or workgroup to choose a Domain license server. If you select this option, the computer on which you install the license server does not have to be a domain controller. However, if you want the license server to be automatically discovered by terminal servers that communicate with it, the computer on which you install the license server must be a domain controller."

If you are Enterprise + Domain Admin you can install the Enterprise server and verify that it registered in the Active Directory correctlly.

I am both and yes, it is installed and registerd in DNS. As I haven't activated this serve, I made sure the TS-Enterprise-License-Server still points to the active one.

Thanks for the handholding on this!!
