  • Terminal Server Licensing

    Hello
i had a network which include sbs 2000 and windows 2000 server.
the windows 2000 server was acting as terminal server and was not a dc.
the ts cals were installed on the sbs 2000 server.
recently i replaced the sbs 2000 with sbs 2003 server.
ts cals can only be installed on windows 2000 workgroup or dc.
    so my question :
can i install the terminal server licensing and the windows 2000 ts cals on the sbs 2003 server?
in no what is the soloution?
    shai
    Good Luck

Yeap, but be aware that you may need to reactivate the TS licenses.

      Hi Yuval
      thanks for the reply
are you sure about your answer?
after i wrote the thread i called microsoft preffered partners support and they said that i should buy one windows 2008 server and new 2008 ts cals.
and that i should downgrade the both products to 2003.
      does it make sense?

        Re: Terminal Server Licensing

        Problem was solved!!
        Microsoft support team were wrong
        Yuval was right
terminal server license server that installed on sbs 2003 supports windows 2000 and windows 2003 terminal server licenses
no need to by additional products
seems like Microsoft tried to make easy money of the situation
        shame on them
        Good Luck

              Hi guys!

As I heard, it's impossible to run TS on SBS. So, I have a question is it possible to run TS licensing role on SBS?
              Best regards,
