  • Windows 2003 terminal server run in workgroup mode

    I would to know windows 2003 stndard server terminal server run in Workgroup mode.

    - how to install office 2003 in terminal server
    - how to hide desktop IE / my computer or other icon in profile
    - how to modify GPO in default profile.

    I can recommended to install the server in domain. Most of the GPO settings will work under domain and/or its much easier to manage the TS in domain...

      There is no reason TS wont work in a workgroup, but as Yuval said, a domain (if you have one) is better.

      To answer your specific questions:
      1) All software installs should be done through "add/remove programs" in the control panel. If you dont, you WILL have problems

      2) You can hide desktop icons in the normal way, then copy that profile to the "default" profile. All new logons will then have the same settings. Alternatively you can use a local policy to do the same.

      3) If it is a workgroup, it will have a local policy only. Use the local security policy editor (in admin tools)

        point 2, how can work with this create the GPO for all user using Terminal client please advice more information.

          Because it apply to computer, not to users. You can give access in special folders and etc.
