  • 2003 Terminal Server not purging printers when user logs off

Windows Server 2003 SP2 Terminal Server in Application Mode, have about 8 users that connect to it and have their remote printer drivers set up and most of the time it works fine.

Problem is that sometimes it will not purge printers once a user has logged off. I will know it's having issues when I get a call saying someone can't print. I have them log off (not just disconnect) and the printer stays in there. I wind up restarted Print Spooler and manually deleting the "stuck" printers.

    Any thoughts are appreciated.

Yes I am. Forgot to mention that. It's running and I see entries in the event log from it.

I know that no matter how many times I tell the users....they just disconnect opposed to log out. I have it set up so that a disconnected session is ended after an hour. Does that make any difference?

Please check if the printers drivers are sign by Microsoft and consider Level 3 (user mode) drivers.
