  • printing problem in ts

    hi

some users suddenly cannot print in exel 2007, outlook 2007, they cant even see none of our network printers in these applications.
however they can print in word 2007 and see the printers, but they cannot set a defult printer not in windows and not on word.
all the user profiles are on ts2003 we use three ts and its the same in all the servers for these users.
the rest of the user can print with no problems.

i think mabey to restore the user profiles from earlier time' but we dont back the user profile delibertly.

    i appreciate any ideas

    thanks

    Re: printing problem in ts

usually TS printing issues derive from not installed printer drivers on the server.

Check the application log for print errors.
It should give you an idea of what is going on.

We had the same problem and if I remember correctly it had something to do with the Default User profile. Try replacing the Default User profile on one of the TS servers (make a copy of the original first) with a copy from another server. If this doesn't work then try recreating the user profile for one of the affected users.

Deleting the default profile, will only affect new profiles being created.
Existing profiles will always be used first.

I know it doesn't make sense but this is what we found. You will probably need to recreate the user profiles after following this article. Have a look here:

              we found a solution

delete ntuser.dat in the problematic users profile on all the servers where the profile reside, this will recreate the user profile.
