  • double window in IE 6

    I've win 2003 TS and IE 6.
When the users (remote or console) try to open a new Internet Explorer window, they recive 2 windows: one with the expected site and the second empty.
    This cause a performance degradation.
There are no extra toolbars and pop-up blockers.
    Tnx

    Two things I would check:
    1) how do they open IE? By clicking on what? Can it be that there is an IE shortcut that somehow the command line is not right?
    2) what happens with the same site, when not in TS? Can it be that in the site itself there is a script that open two windows?
Is the site on Intranet, or Internet? Can you post the address?

When users cliks on the IE icon, only one window opens.
When they click on a link, 2 windows appears.
      It occurs in any site.
I installed Firefox and it woks fine, but my users preffers IE6.

        DUH !
        I'm puzzled...
Doesn't matter on what link they click inside the IE window, it will always open two windows, and one of them is empty ? Even if the link was not supposed to be opened in a new window?
You said in your first post:
When the users (...) try to open a new Internet Explorer window
and in the last one you say :
When they click on a link
How do they do that? Right-click -> Open in a new window?

I'll try to be more clear.
I tried 2 ways to open a new IE window: right click and left click on a link to a new site.
In both cases 2 windows open.
when I chose a site from favorites, it opens in a new window (only one), but the old windows is still in the back.
