  • administrator unable to access rdp user's folders

    Hi:

We have a thin client environment for about 50 users.

The Terminal Server has windows 2003 server installed on C drive and rdp user folders are redirected to 'D:\user documents\user' wherein 'user' is replaced by names of individual users.

Everything was going fine until we decided to backup user docuements, which it did not permit saying that administrator did not have rights.

When the administrator logged in as a user and checked security options, the 'adminstrator ' was not given 'full control', which was consequently corrected.

Is there any way by which this full control can be given to the administrator over the folders of all users without having to individually login?

    Thanks,
    Neeraj

The issue isnt a real TS issue, but Windows permissions issue.
You may need to change the NTFS permissions or/and take ownership

There is an option in GPOs for what you're asking, but it works (as far as I know) only for roaming profiles. See the attached screenshot.
