    Re: RDP Black screen ?

Do you really think that someone can answer that?
    What about some details:
    - what OS are you trying to connect to? XP? 2000? 2003? 98?
    - if it's a server, is it in Administrative mode or TS?
    - does it happen with a specific user? Can you try with another one?

    Please, provide some details.

        But with the same username?
        Try:
        - login to the console or
        - login from remote by using mstsc /console /v:[server's IP]
and go to Administrative Tools -> Terminal Services Manager and close any existing session. Sounds like a previous session was not closed properly, it is stuck, and you get connected back to it every time.
Hope this helps. Please post the outcome.

After starting my car it makes a noise that doesn't sound right. What component should I replace?

            Ontopic:
most of the time it could be network issues. Try replacing the network cable or if possible the NIC.
Check for any events on the server.

Also please post more info. The batteries of my magic ball needs to be replaced.

It sounds to me like you have a problem with the default profile's color settings.
does this happen also when you login at the console itself?
("console" - I mean as infront of the screen. not mstsc /console).

              try this reg fix
(paste in a new text docuement and change the extention to REG):
              Code:
              Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

              [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Colors]

                  Disable Bitmap Caching.

                  Open your RDP Connection
                  Click Options
                  Experience Tab
                  Uncheck Bitmap Caching

                  Try to connect again...

Do you also get a small popup stating that it is reconnecting?
And after a couple of seconds it logs trough?

                      try this
find in your "My Documents" folder the hiddenfile Default.rdp and delete it.
Next time you start remote desktop, do not use any saved rdp-settings.

                      Use the commandline;

                        Logu,

I had simlar issues between 2 remote sites, regardless of connecting via site to site VPN or direct to the WAN link, I changed the MTU, and everything was fine, I have also had simlilar issues using Sonicwall with packet timeouts etc.

                        Hope it helps

                          What MTU did you use?

And can i do this when i have NIC teaming?

Because if i set it to another value than it jumps back.

                            Re: RDP Black screen ?

From memory I started with the default MTU of 1500, and went down to about 1450 ish.

Again abit of trial and error is required here, dependant on the connection type, ADSL, SDSL, T1 etc, also not sure what country your in, I'm in the UK so your settings may differ somewhat.

It's obvously a routing issue as I'm sure RDP access across the WAN is fine, what routers/modems etc are you using

Sorry I changed the MTU on the router in this case a Sonicwall rather than on the server.

Do you have any issues with other types of IP traffic?
