  • Windowsw 2000 Terminal server licensing issue

I have a windows 2000 server running Terminal apps, and 15 Client access licenses for Terminal server. Active Directory is installed and all workstations log on to the domain when they boot, to access printers and shared office documents. Clients then login in again through a terminal server client connection to run their Jobboss Office Management software. The issue i have(and microsoft won't give me a clear opinon or answer) It seems that only 6 or 7 clients can access the terminal server at one time, even though i have 15 licenses.

The licensing manager shows unlimited Windows licenses and 15 term client licenses. Am i using only the term licenses now? which would mean that i would need 30! licenses for logon to domain and term client?

    please help.

    Thanks

    Licenses Issues

Is the licenses that you own are per "Device"? Is the Terminal Server and the Terminal Server license server running Service Pack 4?

if the license on the terminal server is configured to per server mode and you have only 15 licenses then the server count the connection to the server in addition to the terminal connection so you have 30 connections.
you should change the license mode to per device or per user.

      good luck
