  • SQL Server and Citrix Published Application

    Hi all,

    we have win2003/sp1 and Citrix XP 1.0/and we using published applications for all our remote branch office which are connect through the 2MB IP VPN.

    These application backend connect to our SQL 2000 SP3 Server and this server windows 2000 SP4 and 4 x 2Ghz CPU and 3GB RAM .

    Users are keep complaining the system is slow and how do i improve this?

    Some users getting disconnect while trying to save some data extract from this published application on to Local excel?

    Is their any way to monitor why they disconnect?

    1. You use a Citrix software that is very old so you should conisder to move to
    Citrix 4.5.

    2. Upgrade the SQL to SP4 and hotfix 899761.

    3. Check the network settings. You may have a network problem or/and bad
    hardware.

      Also, how many users typically access it simultaneously? min? max?

        Hi All,

        Thanks, How do i find , how many users are connected ( min/max)? This is ERP system so one user connect to few database through each application

        If i create NIC bridging with 2 Nic and single IP attached to same switch is that make any better or worse ? I saw if i did, it's going to do spanning tree looping?

          You will need to use Teaming options to use two network adapter. Also, there need to check if the network switch support teaming. Low quality
          Switches can create a problem with Teaming.
