  • RDP Client v6

    Hi, guys.
Microsoft released not long ago version 6 of the RDP Client, with enriched features for Vista and Longhorn.
The question is: is it relevant for connections to XP and 2003Server? Is it something worth upgrading?
I read Microsoft's KB article, but couldn't make my mind out of it.

    TIA for your answers.

    Re: RDP Client v6

The RDP is more relevent to Windows "Longhorn"/Vista services so you dont need to run and upgrade the system if you use only Windows 2000/XP/2003.

Note that the great feature "copy paste" files from TS session works fine when connecting to windows 2003 or windows XP !!
You can also map your local drives to TS session.

You don't need Vista to upgrade TS client

We can even copy file from the desktop of a TS session to another TS desktop !

Mapping local disks isnt something new as I know.
Can you provide more details on "copy paste" files option? As I know, this can
be dont only after add some utility to the TS server.

            Re: RDP Client v6

I've just noticed that copy paste from a TS desktop file to local desktop works fine with XP client (RDP 5.1, not 6) and 2003 TS server !
However, it works only when local disks are mapped.

I didn't have to add rdpclip utility on servers.
It seems to be only for windows 2000 servers.

            thanks for infos

I'm waiting for french version of RDP 6 client (I can't install english one) to test multi screen feature!
