  • Netmeeting and Remote Desktop

what is the difference in the way netmeeting shares a desktop and the way remote desktop does?

its baffling to me the similarities on the outside.

    I can share with netmeeting.
yet I cannot use RDC to connect to a WIN 2000 Pro PC from XP.

Not interested in downloading VNC, just looking for symantics.

or maybe the outside chance of getting it to work.

I've downloaded the administrator's pack for 2000 pro, but unable to activate the remote administration settings for terminal services.

    Thanks,

    Eric

    Re: Netmeeting and Remote Desktop

Windows 2000 Pro doesnt support server side of RDP.
Netmeeting isnt secure as RDP and allow the user more advanced
    options like Share desktop etc.
The TCP/IP ports of Netmeeting isnt the same.

The original RDP Protocol for NT4.0 TSE was based upon NetMeeting.
