  • Deploy a Windows update without WSUS

    Hello,

I seem to have a specific problem, I need to deploy an update to ~80 computers.
I do own a WSUS, but WSUS has deemed this update as Not Applicable (because it falls into XP SP3).
Now I need to install this update to some workstations (80 out of 1500) so that they can install IE8 - which is blocking SP3 deployment on those workstations.

Is there any way that I can install these updates automatically, or do I have to do it by hand?

    Thnx in advance!

You could try declining SP3, in which case all the other updates should become live

Alternatively, if the update is an MSI file, you could roll it out through a software deployment GPO

Which update (KB number) is it?

Create a script so you do not have to do manually

or script it into your logon script.
