  • SCOM integration with a ticketing system?

    Research links:

Looks like SCOM R2 has some connectors that you can utilize through BMC Remedy ARS, HP Operations Manager, IBM Tivoli Enterprise Console, as well as a universal one.

We're going to start looking into a ticketing system next week and this is one of the things we'd like to have. The theoretical backup plan is to filter SCOM alerts through a custom management pack and/or export the alerts to a secondary database / script to filter them, which would then email the appropriate alerts to the ticket system which would then create the tickets.

Has anyone here set this up before?

No one out there does this?

So far it looks like we'll need to spend a fair amount of cash to have a good system that heuristically analyzes the SCOM alerts and creates tickets only for certain errors / patterns.

      Hi there,
How is your integration process going on?

What ticketing system did you choose? and why?

No decision as of yet, but we're going to go with a simple ticketing system that creates tickets from emails, and have SCOM selectively send out emails to the ticketing system. Best of both worlds, and it'll be cheap.
