  • SMS 2003 server or 2007 server?

I need a system managment software something like SMS 2003. which can do software deployment, patch managment, reporting etc.

Trial is not avaliable from MS anymore and now they have change the name to MMS or smt rather which I can't figure out which one I need . I have 700 computers to manage.

CAn someone point me into the right direction please?

If you are asking what has replaced SMS 2003, then it's SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) 2007.

If that's not what you're asking, then please can you clarify what it is that you're looking for.

I think that limit is on System Center Essentials.

I have looked and looked and cannot find a limit for SCCM 2007 (being as its the SMS replacement)

I have however found that System Center Essentials 2007 has a limit of 30 Servers and 500 Clients

If you wanted to double check, I would contact MS partner who specialises in SCCM 2007
