  • write access adm for GPO on petri.co.il

    Hello,

I have grabbed the usb write access adm of the home page on this site, and added the adm to computer administrative templates.
Although the policy just doesn't seem to work. It still won't lock down the usb write access.

    2003 domains, XP SP2 clients

    help appreciated!

    Hello,
Make sure that your GP object is applied successfully and cheack the registry for the following settings:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\StorageDevicePolicies
should have a DWORD named WriteProtect with value 1.

GPs are applied in the following order:
Local GP, Site related GP, domain level GP, OU levels GPs. By default eatch GP can overwrite GPs applied at higher level.
The easiest way to check if the GP has been applied run gpresult on any Windows xp or Windows 2003 command prompt.
For deeply investigation use Group policy resultant included in GP Management tool.

Re: write access adm for GPO on petri.co.il

lists the gpo is not applied because they were filtered out
          (computer) policy name here
          filtering: not applied (emtpy)

is there general things to check for when a policy is labelled as this?
The policy does have the entries made in it
