  • Power Options Porperties

    I am looking for a Group Policy which will allow me to change the Power Option Properties on the screen savers tab. I am using Windows 2003 Server Domain Controller.

    Hi Michael,

    There really isn't much you can do with power management by GPO. If these laptops are XP SP2, you can use powercfg in a startup script, see this:

    This works from a command line (or login script) when the user has sufficient permissions on the machine. in case they don't you can use the following article to take care of that problem:

      Hello all,

      I would like to second yanivfel with CPAU util (google). It'll help you run everything with elevated privileges in a safe environment. Good news, Power Management will be supported in Vista. Have patience and use CPAU (Create Process as Another User) in the mean time.
