  • GPO manegment on 2000, from 2003 machine

    helo
my org. has windows 2000 server as a domain controller, and include the active directory global catalog.

i want to add a 2003 terminal server to my network, and manage the remote desktop users group policy from the 2003 machine.

the issue :short version : the 2003 is having permition problems managing the GPO i set. resaulting in event 1030 (( Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects. Check the event log for possible messages previously logged by the policy engine that describes the reason for this.
)) And 1202 ((Security policies were propagated with warning.
0x534 : No mapping between account names and security IDs was done.))

here is more info i add to this post since no one has answered yet :
when i try these command line to troubleshoot the problem here is what i get :

    find /i "Cannot find" %systemroot%\security\logs\winlogon.log

this is happening on the 2003 machine only , and not onthe 2000 server.

what permitions to i need to set for the 2003 machine to be able to fully manage the group policy in the 2000 machine ?
i have tried this as administrator from both the 2003 and the 2000 machine.
i have checked microsft knowlidge base linked from these events, checked the network dns and other things, but no solution yet.

thnks for any enlightment, and sorry about the spelling
