  • Best way to restrict users to what machine/s they can log on to?

    Hello,

Scenario: I want to retstrict particular accounts so that they may only log on to designated machines.

Example: Say I have a student account called "student.1" and only want student.1 to be able to log onto the 30 or so computers in one lab and I have another account called "student.2" that I want to only be allowed to log onto computers in another lab.

In your experiences whats the easiest most efficient way to do this? How have you accomplished this?

Allow users or Deny users to log on locally? Assign local User rights on the local machine or use group policy?

Under Active Directory Users and Computers look up the user account you are trying to restrict. On the Account tab there is a button that says Log On To... Enter the PC names the account is allowed to logon to.
