  • GPO to lock idle workstations (XP/7 mixed environment)

I need to deploy a GPO to lock idle workstations after 5 minutes of inactivity. I created the GPO to enable screen saver, screen saver executable, screen saver timeout. I linked the GPO to the OU; however, the policy is not working on the workstations. I have a mixed environment of domain controllers (2003 and 200 and majority Win 7 workstations. Has anyone had this issue or know of any other solutions to achieve this? Any ideas? Please help! Thanks

Worth verifying if the GPO has applied via RSoP. Are you setting this via a workstation or user policy? Verify that you have it linked to the correct OU.

I finally figured it out. I had the GPO linked to an OU of computers, I now linked it to the users OU and it works fine. Thanks!
