  • IE "Do you want to copy or move this file?"

    On my XP client in a domain environment when I drag and drop a file from a remote share (eg; \\10.0.0.1\MyShare) it works fine. However when I drag and drop a file from a mapped drive, it prompts me a message "Do you want to copy or move this file?"

    I have tried the following settings to diable this message but still not working.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\1]
    "1406"=dword:00000000
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\1]
    "1406"=dword:00000000

    Tools | Internet Options | Security | Local Intranet | Custom Level | Access data sources across domain = Enable

    make sure you have "automatically detect intranet network" ticked.,
    Also, try setting the settings to just 'medium-low" and see if that helps.

      I have enabled both settings but still no luck. How can I add mapped drive (like H, G) to the trusted sites? If I drag and drop the file from netowrk share like \\x.x.x.x\share then no problem. However all my users are using mapped drive.

        The following solution worked for me.
