Does anyone know how to add trusted sites to IE on a Win XP machine running Windows XP?

I have a GPO configured which uses :

    User> Windows Settings> IE Maintenence> Security> Security Zones & Content Rating

This works ok on servers but not on desktop PC's

Are they Windows XP Pro with SP2 or higher?

What Internet Explorer version and SP level is on the clients and on the member servers?

What OS and SP is on the servers?

Compare the Branding log of the current user from a server where your zones were succesfully configured and one log from a client. You can the the file in the following location,
    "%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Brndlog.txt"

Are there differences found between the two logs ( i.e. the command line options for "BrandInternetExplorer" or in any of the "processing ..." sections)?

    check also the following,
On one of these XP machines check the registry for whether or not one of the folowing entries is set in (HCKU/HKLM)\Software\ Policies \Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,

There are in fact also other locations where to look for the existence of above entries:
    (HKCU/HKLM)\Software\ Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies

Additionally make sure this folder does not contain locally stored old IEAK policies on the XP clients, %windir%\System32\GroupPolicy\User\Microsoft\IEAK (actually the files: \install.ins,
\Branding\Zones\seczones.inf and \Branding\Zones\seczrsop.inf but you best can delete everting that is in that folder and run a GPupdate after that)

Finally, test also by enabling the IEM policy "Process even if the Group Policy objects have not changed" (Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Group Policy\Internet Explorer Maintenance policy processing).
This GPO should linked to the OU were the computer objects for the XP machines are stored.
