  • Gpo not applying on windows 7

    Hello,

I have a Server 2008 R2 Domain Controller. I want to deploy Office 2007 on Windows 7 Enterprise systems. On my test environment, the Group Policy Applied successfully. When I added the systems themselves to the domain and into their respective self defined OUs (Client-Computer OU) the Group Policy wasn't able to be applied on the client systems.
What can I do next to resolve this issue.

The hierarchy of Group Policy is as follows:
Desktop_Lockdown ---> Applied on top domain Level. (Works)
    Default Domain Policy --> (Works)
Office 2007 Installation --> Applied on Test Computer-OU (Not being applied)

The result from the client PCs when I run gpresult /R

Since you're applying the GPO to computers not users, maybe you could show us the computer portion of the gpresult output.

    gpupdate /force do anything?

Re: Gpo not applying on windows 7

          I get this notification:

          C:\Users\administrator.##>gpupdate /force
          Updating Policy...

User Policy update has completed successfully.
Computer Policy update has completed successfully.

What could possibly be blocking these computer group policies from applying?

Reboot the box and wait for sometime,

check event log for possible errors and post back

              This.

I spent 4 hours waiting for an app to deploy via GPO. 3 reboots and a lot of time and gpupdate /force later it miraculously appeared.

              Just a matter of time...

Thanks guys, after a few reboots and adding some new PCs to new OUs with the GPO applied, the software installation was just okay.
