  • Same Group Policy in 2 OU

    Hello All,

Hopefully someone can anwser the following question for me plz ..

On a W2K3 server I have a Group Policy applied to an OU in the main domain.
I want to also apply the same Group Policy to another OU at the same level in
the main domain, , but, , and here is the question>

I want to be able to change a couple of things within the GP, but only in
the second OU???. Now when I change the setting in either OU it make the
    change also to the other.

    Many thanks for any input

    You can either
Duplicate (copy) the GPO and modify it
Link it to both OUs and have a second GPO with the changes (obviously making sure it is applied AFTER the first one!)

as Ossian said - if you want to have different items in a policy object, then you have to have separate policies.

Copying it is the easiest way...

Hi is very late here and I have posted something that was mean to be posted in a different thread.

But yeah the advise that have been given is sound. No other way around it but to create two policies. The great thing about linking policies is so that they are consistent across multiple sites and multiple OUs
