  • Group Policy -- Time & Timezone Issues

    I am having an issue.

Currently I manage a domain of more than 20,000+ users and am having a bit of an issue with time and timezone settings within a group policy.

I am looking to be able to lock down time settings specifically so the user cannot adjust the time/date etc but I still would like them to be able to change their timezone as they travel quite a bit.

    currently I have this.

Computer Configuration > Policies > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > User Rights

Change the System Time: DOMAIN\DOMAIN ADMINS
Change the Time Zone: DOMAIN\DOMAIN USERS

But of course opening the time settings is now disabled for any domain user. Is there any way to circumvent this via script, registry setting, or anything else?

    Thanks for the input.

Are all of your client computers the same? As in, all laptops running Windows 7 or do you have some XP and Vista in there too?
