  • How do I list all GPO settings in a Windows 2000 domain?

I've been asked to list all GPOs and their settings in a Windows 2000 domain. I can see the various GPOs, but when I click the Edit button, I have to sift thru all the settings and record which are set to what.

Is there an easier way such as in Windows 2003 domains where we have the Group Policy Management Console?

To my knowledge the GPMC should work on a windows 2000 domain as well

All servers are Windows 2000 Advanced server. GPMC will only install on Win2K3 and WinXP.

My only option now is to deploy a VM guest running Win2K3 into the domain in question in order to manage its Group Policies. Seems a waste of a whole machine, but thank-fully it's running in VMWare.

      Thanks all.

Can you not install it on an XP workstation and reach the domain controller from there?

There are no WinXP machines in this network which belong to the IT department- they are all user machines.

The IT dept.'s workstations lie in a different domain and for security reasons there is no trust b/w the domains- just RDP for IT to manage it.
