  • User should not install any software

I am using windows server 2008. I want to restric a specif user that he should not install any software in his computer which is connected with Active Directory as well he could not change the desktop wall paper. In Group Policy I was unable to find the policy to restrict the user.

Kindly guide me the proper policy so I may impliment it.

    thanks

Re: User should not install any software

If the user is not a member of the local admin group then they shouldn't be able to install any software. If they are a member of the admin group, log on to their computer and remove them from the admin group.

If you want to set a wallpaper that will always be used, go to User Config -> Admin Templates -> Desktop -> Active Desktop and set the Active Desktop Wallpaper setting. If you you just want to make sure they can't change the wallpaper under go to User Config -> Admin Templates -> Control Panel -> Display and enable Prevent Changing Wallpaper.
