  • GPO best practice

    Morning all

I'm doing a review of our GPOs as one hasn't been done for a year or two.

From a speed of processing point of view, is it better to have multiple GPOs with similar settings (say department based policies) filtered off by security group or to have one uber policy with all the standard settings and then fewer smaller ones for the department specific settings (ie: mapped drives etc)?

    Cheers

    Re: GPO best practice

From the performance prespective I don't think there is much difference between the two approaches if Best practices are followed.
From the troubleshooting viewpoint I'd try to keep it simple and create different GPOs for different OUs and maybe link the GPO at a higher level if settings are the same.
