  • What is algorithm ID in GPO

Hi, I am trying to block a bunch of files using GPO software restriction policy. I know the md5sum of these bunch of files but not aware of algorithm ID. How do I find this value?

    Thanks,

    [MD5 or SHA1 hash value]:[file length]:[hash algorithm id]
    For example
    7bc04acc0d6480af862d22d724c3b049:126:32771

The last bit is the Algorithm ID

      Thanks for the reply.

I am assuming that, algorithm ID will not change when I generate any files MD5SUM. Can you refer to me any link where I can find algorithm vs algorithm ID?

I would've thought so. One way of doing it would be to try different algorithms and see the ID.I know it's a bit long winded but can't seem to find any related articles nor any reason why they should publish it tbh.
