  • Problem with adm file in group policy

    I've created a custom adm file for disable the windows xp tour prompt
    on my client computers and whan im loading the adm file to the gpo i get an error message stating that i have a problem in line 8.
    the adm file looks like this:


    CLASS USER
    CATEGORY Nuisances
    POLICY "Disable the Windows Tour"
    KEYNAME "Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets \Tour"
    VALUENAME "RunCount"
    VALUEON NUMERIC 0
    END POLICY
    END CATEGORY

      Loads fine on W2K3 and XP...

      Try adding: VALUEOFF NUMERIC 1, but other than that, it looks pretty clean to me.

      What OS is the machine you are trying to load the template from ?

          as guy said, loads fine on win2k3 and winxp

          i checked it my self and it look fine to me

              might be a long shot, but are you allowed spaces in the filename for an ADM file?

              pls, tell me I'm wrong if I am
              1 + 1 = 11 ... honest!

                  please try shorten the filname back to 8.3 (something like: DisTour.adm)

                    are you sure that you're loading the same adm that you posted above?

                    it seems like you mispelled the text.

                    it expect a string or valuse that does not exist

                      Iv'e changed the name to DisTour.adm and i don't get the error anymore
