Re: Batch files/script dont excute using GPO

What kind of scripts shutdown, logoff, logon or startup scripts?

Has the clients/users at least read and execute access for the script in the path you entered in the gpo (ntfs and share permissons).
Are the scripts being replicated to all DC's?

    1) Use the Resultant Set of Policy (RSoP) information for the Group Policy Scripts client-side extension. Check the Last Executed column in the Windows settings/scripts part to see if the script was executed and when as the last time.
Or, you can check on the client the registry for the suitable key(s):
    • HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\ System\Scripts\Startup
    • HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\ System\Scripts\Shutdown
    • HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\ System\Scripts\Logon
    • HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\ System\Scripts\Logoff
Does the key you are looking for exist on the client?

    2) In a sub/subkey in the registrykey you'll find also the value "Script", use that path to run the logonscript manually, and see if there are any security issues or other messages pop-up.

    3) Check also the eventviewer, look for any error messages in the Application log with USERINIT as the source. These events have then been recorded during the logon process.
