  • Sceernsaver Policy not appling fully

    Hi Friends,

I have implemented a new screensaver ( only changed the name of screensaver in existing policy ) on 3rd dec. but still large no. of users are getting the old screensaver. I donot know why ??.

CAN u guys help me in this , I mean : what troubleshooting steps should I do t resolve this.

Simple thing I know that is to do gpresult on client machine but what in case of hundred of client machines.

Is this the AD issue and I need to do some tweak or something else.

    Hi,

    1. At what level policy has been applied? (Level means OU or domain? )

    2. At which level users are (good and problematic both)?

    3. Has the screensaver file been copied at right location?

    4. Have you tried running gpresult or rsop.msc on problematic clients to ensure that the right policy and seeting is getting applied?

I know bunch of questions but will help further..........

      Hi Kapil,

      Please find the answers:

      1. Policy is on OU level.R

      2. All the users are in the same OU. ( NO sub-OU further)

      3. Scr file is at right location since almost 60% users are getting new scr.

4 Yes I have check 3-4 users by rsop and it show policy is applying.

Remeber I have not created a new policy and only changed name of scr file in existing policy.

        Sorry to ask again but........

The new screen saver that you have applied, is it the one among the defaullt screen savers of Windows or you have a customized one?

            Hi,

Just check any problematic machine if it's been copied to that machine or not.

And if you are using any network path then make sure that network path is accessible.

As I have already mentioned that file is already copied to those machines and it is applying on almost 60% users hence it is not related to incorrect path in policy.

Only thing I guess is that old policy freezed and new is not getting applied. Why it is so that I donot and need investigate.
