  • How to register a .dll through GPO

    Hi,

Is there any way to register a dll file through GPO. I do not want to use a startup or login script for this.

    Thanks........

Re: How to register a .dll through GPO

I suggest you register it using a startup or login script. I can't really see why you don't want to use a script, so maybe when you ask how to do something, and then say that you wish to reject the obvious way to do it, you should include some more info as to WHY you reject that method, to help us understand what you are objecting to about using a simple script, and this info will give us a better appreciation of your specific requirements.

It's almost like saying that you want your wall painted red, but you don't want to use paint. hmmmm.........

        ya you are right.

But it's dam management, they want us to not to use scripts.

          Regards,
Why not? Surely scripting is a vital part of network administration?

Maybe you can create a MSI on a (clean) sample computer.
Make a snapshot before and one after you added and registrate the dll-file. Convert the differences to a msi file. Install the MSI with a gpo.

I'd be really interested in how the management can justify their daft position.
