  • Autoconfigure Outlook (and other things) via GP

    Hi,

I have a network running 2 x Windows 2003 Servers (Exchange 2003 and SQL2005) and would like to start using the GP for configuring Outlook 2003 installs which are on Windows XP boxes. Ive downloaded the Microsoft Office 2003 Resource Pack which includes the various templates for Office 2003. How would I import the Outlook Templates and configure them so each time a user logs in to any pc within the network, their outlook profile is automatically configured. Also I would like to map 3 network drives and a 3 HP Printers which are currently setup on one of the above servers?

    Many thnaks
    David

    2. Place the "Outlook Profile.prf" file in the \SYSVOL\Domainname\scripts directory.

    3. Import the "Outlook.adm" template to User_Configuration\Administrative Templates.
This will create a new policy template called Outlook Profile. (Search for this on the internet)

    4. Enable this policy and then type the path of the "Outlook Profile.prf" file. ex. \\Domian Name\SYSVOL\Domain Name\scripts\outlook profile.prf.

Michael, thanks for the script but the website has removed your red text, can you repost using bold instead?

Can anyone help me with the follow. Ive imported the outlk11.adm file into the Domain Group Policy and Ive created the prf file and dumped it into the sysvol\domain\scripts directory. I think I now need to activate the policy so it picks up the prf file but Im struggling to find where I do this, can anyone help?
