  • Group Policy affecting Security Group members.

Firstly, does a group policy affecting an OU affect the members of a security group in that OU?
If so, what if a user is in two security group in two different OUs with conflicting policies?

I don't have a system to test this in unfortunately, we're deploying now and I'm drawing up the OU structure.

    Thanks in advance.

Group Policys do not apply to security groups. Your users will be subjected to the Group Policiy's that are applied to the OU, Site, Domain where their object is located.

I.e. if you users are a member of security group 1 and 2 which are located in an OU called "ou1" and "ou2" but their user account is located in an ou called "users" The users will be subjected to the group policy applied to the "users" OU.

    Does this answer your question?
