  • Question: GPO to put my documents and mycomputer on the desktop for winxp clients

some one knows if there is a GPO setting to put my computer icon on the desktop?

it does not have to be force... just put it there...

    i have tested this setting

User \Administrative Templates\Start Menu and Taskbar Force classic Start Menu

but it does not put the icons on the desktop

    It should work.
Are you sure the GPO is applied? Have you checked gpresult or RSOP.msc?

You can import an ADM from here in the Administrative Templates, and apply it.
Don't forget to untick the "filter\policy\only view policy that can be fully managed" on the properties of Admin templates.

      It worked for me.
