  • GP for "use passive FTP"

    I am looking for a way to push settings for my users that will uncheck the "Use passive FTP" setting. Through GPO, they do not have access to the advanced tab.

    I have learned that the registry entry is:

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\FTP]
    "Use PASV"="no"
    "Use Web Based FTP"="no"

    I wanted to do the same thing for use http 1.1 and use http 1.1 through proxy and came across this custom template, but haven't seen anything for passive ftp.

    ;-----------------Begin Code---------------
    CLASS USER

    CATEGORY !!Internet

    CATEGORY !!ProxySettings
    POLICY "Use HTTP 1.1"
    KEYNAME "Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersio n \Internet Settings"
    VALUENAME EnableHttp1_1
    VALUEON NUMERIC 1
    VALUEOFF NUMERIC 0
    END POLICY

    POLICY "Use HTTP 1.1 Through Proxy Connections"
    KEYNAME "Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersio n \Internet Settings"
    VALUENAME ProxyHttp1.1
    VALUEON NUMERIC 1
    VALUEOFF NUMERIC 0
    END POLICY

    END CATEGORY

    END CATEGORY

    [strings]
    Internet="Internet Explorer Advanced Settings"
    ProxySettings="HTTP 1.1 Settings"
    ;----------------End Code------------------

    Thank you,
    Thank you,

    Marc

      Okay, so my admin temp looks like this:

      ;-----------------Begin Code---------------
      CLASS USER

      CATEGORY !!Internet

      CATEGORY !!FTP
      POLICY "Use Passive FTP"
      KEYNAME "Software\Microsoft\FTP"
      VALUENAME "Use PASV"
      VALUEON "Yes"
      VALUEOFF "No"
      END POLICY
      END CATEGORY

      CATEGORY !!ProxySettings
      POLICY "Use HTTP 1.1"
      KEYNAME "Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersio n\Internet Settings"
      VALUENAME EnableHttp1_1
      VALUEON NUMERIC 1
      VALUEOFF NUMERIC 0
      END POLICY

      POLICY "Use HTTP 1.1 Through Proxy Connections"
      KEYNAME "Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersio n\Internet Settings"
      VALUENAME ProxyHttp1.1
      VALUEON NUMERIC 1
      VALUEOFF NUMERIC 0
      END POLICY
      END CATEGORY

      END CATEGORY

      [strings]
      Internet="Internet Explorer Advanced Settings"
      ProxySettings="HTTP 1.1 Settings"
      FTP="FTP"
      ;----------------End Code------------------

      But in my GPOE, it shows the Catagory FTP but there is no value in that folder. It is empty.
      Thank you,

      Marc

        Re: GP for "use passive FTP"

        You may need to untick "Only show policy settings that can be fully managed"

        Just right click the folder of the policy you are attempting to ammend, click View and then Filtering.

        Let us know
