  • Policies Directory gone

    Hi,

    I have a major problem.

    Specs:
    Windows 2000 Domain Controller
NDTS Database and SYSVOL on another partition.

    Problem:
This server is equiped with a group policy, now after a while i cannot edit the group policy anymore, it comes with following error message:

failed to open group policy object. You may not have the appropriate rights

Now i am sure i have the appropriate rights, but one strange thing.
The directory F:\WINNT\SYSVOL\sysvol\domain\Policies is gone (Policies), just disappeard.
You can see that the SYSVOL dir is on another partition.

If i delete the group policy and recreate it, it works for just a while.
But eventualy it wil disappear again....

    What could be my problem?

    Re: Policies Directory gone

    Hello,
You said that after the group policy is recreated it will disappears in soon.
    Questions:
    1. Did you notice how long remain in place the new policy before it disappeared?
    2. Is there other DSs in the network?
