    Hello all,

Let's take a look at this post. Reply #10 from guyt is really the ultimate solution for the quest of "preventing" user from saving to the workstation desktop. Usually, mandatory profile works as well.

    Hope that helps,

Clarification question: do you need to prevent them from saving things on Desktop, or just prevent those changes to remain on Desktop?
For latter, you can make their profile mandatory (just change the ntuser.dat file in the user's profile to ntuser.man) and this will discard any change to the profile (and I repeat: ANY change !!) after the next logout.
I use this method for public stations.

Well you give them only the read permission through group policy but I imagine it would have drastic results.

See if Folder Redirection is what you're looking for
