  • Creating a DNS entry for webmail

    Hi,

Perhaps a basic questions on creating a DNS entry:

We have exchange hosted by an external company and they offer webmail.

I want to have a link that i can click that will take me to that address. the link is

    webmail.mydomain.com

and when they put this in a browser it re-directs them to a different web address. Can i do this with DNS?

    thanks

It depends on the service it's being redirected to. The service provider needs to recognize the FQDN and direct it to the proper service. Check with your provider to see if it's capable of having you use your own domain.
